Miami Carnival 2026 Transportation Guide
Your costume is sorted. Your fêtes are picked. Now make the rides work together. Start with the places on your itinerary, then compare airports, hotels and transport as one plan.
Miami Carnival’s main road events are in Lauderhill, Broward County, for 2026. Your fêtes may take you elsewhere in South Florida. The name “Miami Carnival” alone won’t tell you where to book your room or order your ride.
First, Know Where You’re Going
The organizer’s August 20, 2026 announcement identifies these dates and locations:
- Junior Carnival & Pan Jamboree: October 3, Tamarac Sports Complex, Tamarac.
- Red Road Fete: October 9, Tamarac. Use the current event listing for the exact arrival location.
- Official J’ouvert: Saturday, October 10, Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill.
- Carnival Day Parade & Fete: Sunday, October 11, the same Lauderhill venue.
Central Broward Park’s address is 3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, FL 33311. Save it for planning; your band or organizer may direct you to a specific entrance or meeting point.
FLL or MIA? Compare the Whole Journey
Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is in Broward County. It is a practical starting point to compare if your hotel and main events are on the Broward side. Miami International Airport (MIA) may fit a Miami-based stay or offer a flight schedule that works better for you. Neither is automatically the cheapest choice once ground transport is included.
- Map the first and last ride: Airport to your actual hotel, then hotel back to the airport.
- Compare the total: Airfare, baggage, transfers and any rental car costs.
- Check the hours: A late arrival can affect rental pickup or hotel shuttle options. Ask the provider about your flight time.
- Keep departure day realistic: Allow time for the journey, any car return and airport check-in.

Where Should You Stay? Let Your Itinerary Decide
Put your hotel and your must-attend events on the same map. If J’ouvert and Carnival Sunday are the center of your trip, compare addresses in Lauderhill, Plantation and the Fort Lauderdale area. If most of your fêtes are in Miami, weigh those journeys too.
A city name doesn’t tell you how convenient a hotel is. Check the property’s exact address and routes to your events. Use current traffic estimates for planning rather than treating any drive time as a promise.
The organizer’s partner-hotel page includes entries with mixed years and booking deadlines. Confirm dates, availability and the final price directly before paying. A partner listing does not establish that the hotel offers Carnival transport.

Rental Car, Rideshare, or a Group Ride?
Rental car
A car can work well for a crew moving between several locations. Compare the complete rental quote: taxes, insurance choices, fuel, toll arrangements, hotel parking and event parking where confirmed. Split the total across the people sharing it before comparing with rideshare. A rental is not automatically cheaper, and it does not guarantee easy event access.
Check the rental company’s pickup and return hours, deposit requirements and toll terms. Choose a sober driver for every journey.
Rideshare
Rideshare can suit travelers who prefer not to drive. Prices and availability vary by route, time and demand. Check estimates for your likely journeys, leave room in your budget and agree on a return plan with your crew.
Use the organizer’s designated pickup area if one is announced. Don’t choose an improvised roadside meeting point that conflicts with event access instructions.
Hotel shuttle or prearranged group transport
Ask the hotel or transport provider exactly what the service covers: event, pickup point, departure time, return time, cost and reservation requirements. An airport shuttle is a different service from a Carnival shuttle. Neither a hotel partnership nor a room booking guarantees event transport.
Public transport for part of the journey
Airport transport pages list public transport options. Check the current route, timetable, transfers and final connection to your destination. A train or bus connection between cities does not by itself cover the trip to the Carnival entrance or your late return.
Getting to Official J’ouvert
Official J’ouvert is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at Central Broward Park. Use your current ticket or band instructions for the start and meeting times. Don’t assume an island-style pre-dawn start applies to this event.
- Agree on the outward ride: Driver, departure time, passengers and where everyone meets.
- Save the right location: The venue address plus any entrance or assembly pin supplied by your band.
- Plan the return separately: Know who is driving or how you will arrange pickup. Confirm the event schedule before choosing a return time.
- Prepare for the mess: Bring a change of clothes and a bag for used items. Check your transport provider’s rules before getting into a vehicle covered in paint or powder.
If you’re playing with a band, use its assembly instructions alongside the organizer’s venue-access guidance. General admission and band participation may have different arrival requirements.

Carnival Sunday: Plan Both Ends of the Day
The organizer’s 2026 announcement places the October 11 parade and fête at Central Broward Park. If you’re playing mas, get your band’s meeting time and location before arranging transport.
As of our October 4 check, we have not verified a complete, event-specific 2026 plan for parking prices, shuttle routes, rideshare zones or road access. That is a limit of this guide’s verification, not a claim that no instructions exist. Older Fairgrounds shuttle details on the organizer’s homepage should not be treated as Lauderhill directions.
- Driving: Confirm which lot or entrance you may use, any parking charge and your return route.
- Taking a shuttle: Confirm the service is for this event, then save its boarding location, operating hours and last return.
- Using rideshare: Check any event pickup instructions and agree how your crew will stay together.
- Need accessible transport or access? Ask the organizer and your provider about the arrangements you require.
Use the organizer’s website and official Instagram account for current notices. Check the year, venue and event before applying any instruction to your trip.
Your Carnival-Week Transportation Checklist
- Now: Map your hotel and events. Compare flight and transport totals, and finish any reservations you still need.
- Before each event: Read the latest organizer and band instructions. Confirm your entrance, meeting time and return plan.
- Before leaving the hotel: Charge your phone, pack a power bank, save addresses and share the plan with your crew.
- Before heading home: Check the pickup instructions and your driver or provider’s availability. Keep enough time for the journey.
The Mistakes to Avoid
Booking on a city name instead of an address. Treating an airport shuttle as event transport. Comparing a rental’s daily rate with rideshare without adding parking and other costs. Planning the ride in and forgetting the ride back.
Keep the plan simple enough that your whole crew can follow it. Save the details together with your event confirmations.

What time should I leave for J’ouvert?
Work backward from your band’s assembly time or ticket’s entry instructions, using a current route estimate. Add time for the arrival arrangements you have confirmed; this guide does not prescribe a 4 a.m. departure.
